Window of Opportunity

We look out towards the sky and curse the sun for the sweltering heat in the day-time. In the night, if you chance to look up at the sky, not many will be left unfazed by the expanse signifying so much of stuff out there. Ever read about anyone getting ideas and expressing their feelings during mid-day? How many of those line up in ur mind which refer to the night time? Sky is always the limit only in the night! The vast stretches of sparkling stones remind us of our insignificance and the magnificence of the universe out there.

Now spare a thought for "Opportunity". How many people think of opportunities out there unless you are pressed for one? We do tend to curse the oppression of not having opportunities (just like the mid-day sun) but we only really put in the effort to grab an opportunity and think seriously about the innumerable opportunities around us when we are forced to do so (end of Std XI, last year of college, ur batchmates getting married, ur neighbours getting new cars n houses n so on). There are a zillion opportunities out ther, if only we stopped a second from our "busy schedule" to look at it. Else it will be just like the sky for a person sitting at home and watching tv.

People who stare at the sky can only become astronomers. People just redundantly going through every day of their lives can only find it in dictionaries and documentaries. We do try to generalise the opportunities. We also acknowledge their presence but do little to reap the benefits of going after one. After all, a comet is just a shooting star or a wishful star, if you get what I mean.

So why the title? Opportunity is just like a window. Only when the window gets diminished in size do we realise the importance of looking through that window. Some dont get to see things when they can, and curse the lack of it when they cant. Just like a person whose eyesight diminishes and blanks out, just like the horizon when the night lights up onto a new day, just like when your mother's health wanes, just like when your physique becomes fragile and weak, just like when you hear the last few words from your beloved before departing... Hope is the only thing that person has. Infact I feel the only people who "hope" are the people who dint grab the opportunities when it was abundant and realised them when they can no longer look through the window of opportunity.

Another thing is that people never look at opportunities they are not bothered about...Is ignorance really bliss in this case?

And I aint an exception. I am looking at my opportunities now....
