Irony

First you say "so long",
Then u just long
You get ur parents to come over and "ting tong"
But somewhere down the line, your heart becomes strong...

Every passing second, misery you prolong
Hammering your heart like a powerful gong
Exhausting lame excuses for flying many a furlong
Knowing that your decision was but a ping pong...

Realising u have got it all wrong,
You write a sad song
Finally u know where u really belong
A place u have ignored all along!

By the time we realize,it is too late,
Let us atleast pass our xperince to our children on a silver plate.
But they think the times have changed off late,
and our experience is all waste.
Then they have destiny for a date,
And realize what we said was great,
but for them again it is too late.

Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam,
Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home.

A man travels the world over in search of what he needs and returns home to find it.

That was a nice poem...a quotation seemd like an appropriate answer...I always worry when people write sad poetry...people shouldn't be made to feel that bad...and it comes out even sadder in poetry than in prose.

A poetry always makes me smile... and I guess TJ's wasnt that sad too. It was juz stating a fact.

Its quite sad when people just fly off juz for the sake of going away from their routine life. Go on a vacation to wherever, thats fine, but being there is a totally different story. Thats what I want to portray.

And nandini, poetry always has a greater impact than prose. Be it in happiness or sadness. Thats why its a great medium to bring out wht u think..

Wow really well-written......its true that going away and being there at tht moment really makes a lot of difference....hopefully one day they'll return to the place that matters the most!!!
