Not quite...

I am bitterly disappointed, but not bad...Whats the next best thing to a victory? 2nd and 3rd on the podium and thats whats there in Canada. Although with Alonso throwing out his chances and 10 points for the picking, the championship leader might change quicker than expected! And schumi is not anywhere near to that. But Ferrari have a lot to prove and improve in the coming races. In a way, the start decided the finish, but gosh, they wud have been easily 35 sec+ on the McLarens and the Renaults, and far down the order if not for a few guys flirting with the walls and the safety car. The performance differential is staggering and I would admit that I dont have much hopes for the rest of the season. That is definitely bad news heading into Indy, in what I would think is a week of another comfortable McLaren victory. This is not a moment of rejoice but a moment of reconciliation and retrospect. Ferrari has always excelled at medium to low downforce circuits, but with only 2-3 of them remaining in the calendar, do they have to build a car suited for those? Its all about salvaging a few race wins now, although I would presume for a lost cause. I dont feel like giving an update on my other predictions, but the McLaren duo seem to be listening!

Karthikeyan will do no good banging into walls to welcome the new team manager. His seat could potentially be up for grabs anytime!

Glad to see so many passionate F1 fans, and I am sure if u watch the races this season, u will also become an ardent F1 fan Ms. A.

Priya, be optimistic and do get to watch any F1 race if u can, cos the experience is totally diff from what u watch on tv..

Sharana, I think we do have to wait a while till we see Ferrari on the top step.

V, that was in 2003 that he came close. 2004 was a red wash! And definitely, Jordan will be fuming at him for banging a million dollar car with 80000 parts into a wall ;) Definitely not good for him that Tiago Monteiro finished the race in 10th place!

Hey Ms. V, u lookin? u got competition ;)

Arch, agreed that drivers race to win, but with Ferrari and Schumi placed as they are, any (lucky) points are welcome!

No one is competition, RA ;) Do you wish I feel threatened??? And my absence was felt, wasn't it? :D

Not in the least, but just trying to see how the scorpion reacts when cornered! I am sure u r burning inside...A may be able to tell u more with her psychological insight!

Your absence was felt by the presence of another V. Its upto u to take it in a +/- way ;) And I do know u dont like all these cars goin round n round!

Hmmm. Trying to provoke me, are you? Well the scorpion also knows how to keep her composure and when she needs to put on a cool front ;)

Car racing I watch if I happen to come across it on TV. I don't follow it like an avid fan but enjoy it as a spectator. Plus, I enjoy sports 'cos of the men!!! And having those helmets on their faces doesn't excite me too much :p

And a cornered scorpion has nothing to fear. After all, the sting is on its side, is it not?

I donno if u donno, but if u donno, then u gotta know tht a cornered scorpion has a habit of stinging itself to death!

I've never had to use my sting as yet so I've got more than plenty of it to sting all those who dare to corner me. Times are changing. I'm a new generation scorpion! Stinging myself to death will never be an option because I would never find myself in that situation.

Well, the rain Gods will probably side with Schumi again in Indy and help him win... They had rain there this week. Of all the races I chose to go, it had to rain and let him win! :(

Narain's attitude is his undoing. He is trying to just finish races. That is fine for the first couple races, but to keep the same attitude race after race is no good for his career... He's got to fight for better if he wants to hang around at this level.

V..i guess thats what I had mentioned in my post as well. And Bala, 2003, u had a grudge on schumi cos he was winning everything and probably making F1 boring. But why r u still upset cos hes way down the points table anywayz. And im puzzled abt Narain. He hardly finished the races this season (while his teammate has finished every race so far). His teammate is the one who says he juz wants to finish. Narain wants to finish ahead of Tiago in every race (understandably) and thats been his undoing so far...went off in Spain when Tiago was behind him; banged against the rails in Monaco when Tiago was chasing him; Crashed in Canada walls when Tiago was 2 sec ahead of him and he was catching him. He has to look at the being ahead at the end of the race, rather than being ahead of his teammate at every point of the race! Thats his problem as I see it.

Its not about the points RA... It just frustrates me to see him on the podium... Also with the rains, there is no stopping him. But you know what, I guess its about time for my frustration to die down...

Random Access said...

hmm, i am puzzled by ur last sentence...Is it that u will no longer be frustrated by schumi being on the podium or ur guess that schumi wont be on the podium again?

And V, if u consider the ifs and buts, there will be no end. if only schumi had a good start, if only Fisichella dint have tht hydraulics problem, if only Alonso was careful enuf, if only I was in a Ferrari, nice things to dream abt, but we have to be more concerned abt reality and yeah, the guy with the best car and the dumbest voice come the post race conference won! A typical translation would go something like
